Card Showcase: Pelly, Honest Smuggler

Legendary Creature — Halfling Pirate (3/2)
052/275 Rare

Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to an opponent, choose one that hasn’t been chosen this turn:
• Create a Treasure token.
• Draw a card.
• Target player mills a card.

{U}: Return target attacking creature you control to its owner’s hand.

At the end of our very first session, our heroes managed to escape the Crestfall Catacombs by sneaking out through hidden mole tunnels, which dumped them into the sea below. Fortunately for them, a smuggler saw them as she was passing by. A nat 20 persuasion roll convinced Pelly to fish our heroes out of the water (and also to develop an immediate crush on Mishka, the muscular tiefling who waved her down!) While originally meant to be a one-off NPC, Pelly stuck around, popping up throughout the rest of the campaign.

This is one of those indulgent rares that does a bit of everything. Pelly rewards you for attacking with multiple creatures, and even lets you bail out some attackers if combat goes horribly wrong! I’m curious to see what clever tricks players can come up with when using her.
