I designed this card in the same vein as existing 1-mana green spells like Oath of Nissa or Commune With Spirits, but adjusted to support this set’s green/white Equipment sub-theme. Since Equipment cards aren’t as plentiful or immediately impactful as creatures, Fathers’ Parting Gift lets you dig further into your deck to search for one. To account for this, I also limited it to only hit basic lands… Otherwise players might be tempted to ignore Equipment entirely and use it to search up some of this set’s powerful special lands!
